It has been a month since the publication of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) report, which laid bare our world’s current status of its environment. The result, as feared, wasn’t a good one. Alluding to their findings as a “code red” status, the authors pointed to concerns that the globe may experience the rise of 1.5°C over industrial levels far sooner than planned — maybe in a little more than a decade or so rather than the predetermined range of two decades. So, these ongoing hurricanes, downpours, droughts, and other weather extremes and their effects will only pick up the tempo if we descend this path of negligence and adamance.
